What's in the waiting?

The concept of waiting has a negative connotation. No one wants to wait in line or wait for their food or wait for anything, really. We all want what we want when we want it, and we get upset when it doesn't happen exactly how we planned it in our heads. But, waiting doesn't have to be boring. We can actively wait. As a young woman, I know how hard it is to wait to find a man, and then when you do find one, it's just as hard to wait for marriage. We get what we want and we immediately want "the next best thing." Trust me, I'm there. But, God sees the waiting in such a different way. He sees the waiting as a blessing, and wants us to see it that way too. No matter what you're waiting on; a husband, a new job, a new house, etc., there are things you can do while you're waiting. If you are single and looking for someone, use that time of singleness to grow friendships, spend this time to dive deeper into the word like you've been wanting to do for years now. I encourage you, and I'm speaking to myself here too, do not use busyness as an excuse to not be productive in your waiting. There is always time, you just have to make it. Whether it's studying scripture, practicing a skill, strengthening a relationship, or whatever it may be, take the time to work on what you're waiting for.
Psalm 130:5, "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope;"
I think that is so true. Patience is very hard and I think that is something that comes with pursuing the Lord and his plan for you.
